From June 23 to June 29, 2025, Freie Universität Berlin will be cutting out the letter e from its communication.
Why? Because the university itself is facing cuts: around 37 million euros this year alone. Additional cuts are also planned for 2026 and 2027. (1/3)

the NixOS 24.11 upgrade went very smoothly for both the VPS and home server and only required minimal adjustments to the samba config – it’s been rock-solid as a server OS for me

happy to have discovered nh this week (“yet another nix helper”), which makes activating NixOS and home-manager configurations extremely satisfying. can’t wait to see what the upgrade to 24.11 will look like

how do you all remember every UUID? I find it really hard. so I wrote them all down on every uuid dot com

the list has fast search across all 2^122 values (so you can find your favorites) - hoping to add some social features like "trending UUIDs" soon!
