I just released the cover for my first self-published thriller! It was originally published in 2020 but I got the rights back, so I'm giving it a go!

October's reading wrap-up! Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep had far too many women breasting boobily for my liking, but Before & After was excellent (a 600lb shut-in faces the end of the world?! 🤌).

My horror novels might not be out yet (👀), but I have plenty of books that are perfect for spooky season!

Return to Blackwater House is a gothic thriller with a haunted protagonist. And The House at Helygen is your typical haunted house with historical (human) horrors.

My engagement on here is shocking. Clearly I'm not giving the people what they want — except these are two sapphic horror comedy films that you absolutely need to watch this spooky season. Lesbian and trans rep, women's wrongs, and one Rasputin montage that is *chef's kiss*

Idk why this has such a bad rating (except for the inclusion of Lawrence Fox), it's such a clever, haunting film exploring the true horrors of war.

Post you from a different era

Me with my favourite auntie and my nan in the background. Circa 1996?

It's not often a book makes me physically squirm, but this one did. You Weren't Meant to be Human is an unflinching, unforgettable novel of body horror, queerness, and trauma. A truly consuming read, if you can stomach it (heh).

So-called 'bad track' is complete and utter bollocks.

September reading wrap-up! A varied month packed with brilliant reads. I was glad to find Flat 401 on BorrowBox so I could finally read @kingsley-pearson.bsky.social's excellent debut!

Just finished my third (?) rewatch of Better Call Saul and man, it just gets better every time.

I don't think I took a single breath during the first half of this book. 59 Minutes is one of the best stories I've read in a while, with a twist that is SO perfectly executed, I never saw it coming. Out on the 25th from @holly.bsky.social

Performative reading? I don't know her. Fun horror is where it's at.

(I had SO many good things to say about the last book of the month, but then I found something weird in it so I'll be saying nothing further 👀)

So happy to have this movie in my collection! We did a tour of some charity shops today, but Vinted has been a goldmine.

Why are the TERFs obsessed with trawling through Bluesky? And can someone explain how TERF is a 'gendered slur' when I was talking about John Boyne?

A wee bit late but here's July's reading wrap-up! Lots of audiobooks, most of which were library loans.

Standouts were The Compound (The Hunger Games meets Love Island? Say less!) and They Never Learn (like Promising Young Woman with a satisfying ending). And Suzanne Collins has my heart, the end.

I'd say no, babes, they're not.

Rom coms aren't usually my jam, but a love story with ghosts? I couldn't resist. Nearly Departed is both a lighthearted and moving read about what happens when you try to move on, but your love just won't stay buried.
