I don't expect everybody to come to this conclusion, but I'm curious to see how many people would still hold on to this social construct when they expand their vocabulary for identifying certain things about themselves & others.

I ultimately came to the conclusion that gender as a whole was something forced upon me like a job I never wanted, but couldn't opt out of. The more I rejected performing my perceived gender and unlearned my institutionalized perspective of the world (ongoing) the more useless it seemed...

The questioning that ultimately led me to abandon gender in my life was basically this:

Why do I identify as this gender?

What purpose does it serve to do so?

What am I missing out on if I reject it?

Does anything need to be labeled as masc or femme for me to take part and enjoy it? If so, why?

But the thing is... Despite all of this self deprecating effort most people will fall short of meeting the unrealistic standards of gender because it was never meant to be inclusive or humane. It's literally there to classify us in convenient boxes that outline how we can serve empire...

I'm not even just talking about trans people, cis folk actually indulge in gender affirming behavior and procedures more than anybody else in order to avoid being labeled as "other". Participating in a type of drag that breeds misery rather than joy.

Most people contort themselves or diminish who they are to fit into inconsistent definitions of gender & then wonder why we're so depressed after doing everything "right". Our minds & bodies constantly tell us something is off, but instead of doing what's natural we dig further into the conditioning

"A woman should be like this, a man should be like that. Girls do this, boys do that. That's not ladylike/gentlemanly."

Despite what we've been taught, none of that 💩 is innate or universal. It's conditioned into us and enforced through violence by society or the state.
