5/6 I believe AI will have a tremendous impact on our lives, hopefully positive, but we don't need to overpromise and diminish the real impact AI can have.

4/6 Dario's claim that AI will double human lifespan, prevent infections, solve peace, work, and mind in the next decade makes it hard to argue against the AI-is-hype crowd.

3/6 Some big companies have had ambitious visions—Microsoft: "to empower every person and organization," Google: "to organize the world’s information." Lofty, but focused.

2/6 As someone building in AI, if I had a dollar for every time I've been told AI is just hype, I wouldn't need to fundraise for my next rounds. Essays like these don't help; they feed into the perception that AI is overhyped.
