Twitch Streamer, Tabletop RPG DM and Player, Dilenttante of many feilds. I also write moderately awful scifi. Painfully British.

Bloke, male pronouns are fine.
There is precedence for lit emblems going back to the 30's to be fair.

If I remember rightly it served as a daytime running light.

But yeh, it's way overdone on modern vehicles.

Based on the turret?

Can't think why but somebody sent me this earlier today.

Always a nice bit of the film to revisit.

So, sometimes I take a look at the folks who follow me and just... ..have to take a moment to stare at them.

Post something from your camera roll that comes up when you search for "Yellow car"

If you are like me and there is no search function for your camera roll, presumably if you leave image analysis on it auto tags things in photos, just find the first yellow car manually.

Here is my last DND map.

Old map I did years ago for a Star Trek tabletop.

Bridge of an alternate universe USS Excelsior.

No good news, but a friend has got a fresh set of kittens to make unmanly noises at the adorableness of.

Wasn't the only device to do this either.

Sony also made this thing, which I unironically love with all my heart.

It's so chonky!

That tape drive is instead the same type of one you'd find in many dictaphones or phone answering machine.

Oh yes, it uses these tiny fuckers!

Ever heard audio from either device? The slower rate these tapes run at reduced the audio quality considerably... ..rather bad for music.
April 16, 2025 at 2:44 PM
Today I bring you music.

Badly recorded music.

Behold the only, to my knowledge, set of headphones with a built in cassette tape player.

You might wonder just how big these headphones must be to fit a full cassette tape deck into them. Well, here's the thing. It's not a full size deck.

Its chassis was made of stressed tubes aranged into triangles, with a body added over the top. Kind of a proto-superleggera construction.

The engine drove the drivers side rear wheel, and the driver had breaks for both rear wheels.

Seperately actuated. Hand break driver side, foot passenger side.

No seriously, this started out as a military design.

After WW1 they figured they could get some civilian sales.

They actually did, but we'll come back to that later on.

Obviously for civilian use they had to make a few changes, but the fundamentals of the platform were established here.
April 15, 2025 at 12:20 PM
I said there were more British three wheeled car manufacturers.

Except this one's not a car.

This is a motorcycle, with a built in sidecar... ..that you drive the bike from.

Behold the horror of the Scott Sociable!

Originally derived from a WW1 machine gun sidecar vehicle, this was sold publicly

A revolver with a magazine?

Oh yes, the Landstrad Automatic Revolver features a two round cylinder fed by a magazine in its grip.

Everything about this thing is just so painfully cursed.

A Norwegian design, don't believe it got anywhere. Made the mistake of including in my 30's D&D firearms.
April 14, 2025 at 2:05 PM
In these anxiety fueled times, just remember that Snow Leopards do this.

Unprompted.
April 13, 2025 at 2:30 PM
They mounted their engine on the front wheel.

Steering with the front wheel.

It's a front wheel drive car you turn the entire engine to steer.

It's exhaust ends just behind the wheel as well, for obvious reasons.

It's so god damned cursed.

You had to climb into the engine bay to kickstart these
April 11, 2025 at 5:01 PM
Yes, there were in fact multiple British manufacturers of three wheeled cars.

It was a tax dodge.

So, what made Bond different from Reliant?

Oh sweet summer child, allow me to show you cursed engineering.
April 11, 2025 at 5:01 PM
And yes, they did also make a three wheeled sports car.

The Bond Bug. Built on a Robin chassis cut down extra small.

The Bug was built after Reliant bought out Bond, who were also a British 3 wheeled car manufacturer.
April 10, 2025 at 2:42 PM
Well that's easy.

With the Reliant Robin/Regal/Rialto three wheelers.

Yes, these are all from the same company.

The cheap three wheelers gave the company the money to build the sports cars.

And they were made the same way, front engine rear wheel drive, fiberglass bodywork.
April 10, 2025 at 2:42 PM
Ah, classic examples of the quintessential English sports car.

Reliant Scimitars are classic front engine rear wheel drive cars with clever materials use and love it or hate it styling.

But you may be wondering, where have you heard the name Reliant before?
April 10, 2025 at 2:42 PM
A bit of both of these.
