Sounds like you guys haven’t studied Blavatsky’s work on its own merit. Your assumptions are misguided as are Johnson’s. Having studied it for over 25 years, I find the Secret Doctrine to be utterly consistent and profound, nothing to do with miracles etc which later pseudo theosophy emphasised.

These bogus links between Blavatsky and Nazi’s continue. ‘Races’ has nothing to do with races as we commonly understand them. This is highly complex, requires years of study yet people come along having read some dodgy book and continue the ignorance by writing one of their own. Such a shame.

Yes agreed, that is highly likely the case. I witnessed first hand in several Indian universities that they perpetuate Besant’s corrupted version of theosophy. Extremely frustrating.

Very true. I do wonder how much the evident powerful influence of W.C. played in Besant’s critical role in the hijacking. Regardless, you’re right, she’s entirely culpable.

What a travesty that he didn’t remain ostracised. You could argue that he, the paedophilic pathological liar, almost single-handedly destroyed the society, but not the theosophical movement. Wherever there are compassionate, critical thinking theosophists the movement remains and continues steadfast

I read Baboon some years back. While it has some intrigue, it is largely misinformed and disingenuous. So much ridicule and false accusations about HPB, entirely based in ignorance. For a good read, see Cranston’s The extraordinary life and influence of.. or the more ‘neutral’ bio by Gary Lachman.

Ash, she wasn’t like that at all. This is typical misinformation from people who haven’t actually read her material. I have, and these comments couldn’t be further from the truth. If in doubt, do your own research rather than take on this sort of one liner misinfo stuff.

Strongly suggest you actually read the work

Aidan, sounds like you need to do some more homework on Blavatsky. Don’t believe the lies and bogus claims. The nazis did their own work deliberately misinterpreting HPB’s work. If you read some of her enormous body of work you’ll see that racism has no place in her sublime compassionate writings
