I love mountains, trees, streams, generally anything outdoors. I love fixing things, a good book, lead singer for a rock band, trekkie for life.
Once my family is taken care of, I do whatever I can for everyone else. For me, religion has nothing to do with it. People are hurting and I can help, end of story. There are lots of people that just don't know when they have enough, I guess.

I can't say as I ever felt that connection. As a dad there's nothing that I wouldn't do for my kids, and there's too many things wrong with "creation" to make me feel there's an ultimate father out there that cares for us. I connect with the less fortunate because I've been there. I KNOW the pain.

I'm not sure younger gen's are that different. Older gen's we're able to spot hypocrisy when they were younger, they've just been played by social media and greed. The overturn of the fairness doctrine was arguably the worst thing to happen to this country. So much would be different without that.

Not a dig at you in any way, as I feel I know your heart is in a good place. I think the reason the church has lost so many members over the years is because hypocrisy is more visible now than ever. I'd go back to church if it were held in a tent, and all of my tithing went to the poor.

I listened and appreciate the sentiment with which it was shared. Being on the outside of religion has made me question if we need it for morality. Empathy doesn't come from a book, it only comes from life experience. (Most) people go to church to feel better about themselves, not to be christ like

It's just weird that the people who raised me to be kind to others, to walk a mile in their shoes, and have empathy for those less fortunate than myself, are suddenly saying "Well, not like that!".

Imagine what happens when they get rid of birthright citizenship...

When the canadian imports get hit with 25% tariffs tomorrow, how long do you think it will take before the auto industry grinds to a screeching halt due to all the auto parts manufactured there?

Nope, but it would've been a big deal just 30 DAYS ago. The hypocrisy is beyond comprehension.
