4/4: So the decision to end international humanitarian and development funding has nothing to do with efficiency and everything to do with xenophobia.

2/4: Also, USAID grants require the recipient organisation to procure the majority of the operational products and services, such as travel, from US companies, so much of that money goes back in to the US economy.

To clarify, international development and humanitarian funding amounts are based on percentages of a country's GDP. The recommended percentage is 0.7%, the US allocates 0.24%, which is still significantly less than the internationally recommended amount. 1/2
