Thrilled to support a policy that centres people, purpose and public good. But let’s be clear: sustainable AI must honour the workers and communities in DRC, Chile, Peru and beyond whose resources make innovation possible. Co-operation isn’t local or global — it’s both.

At Conference, I spoke about the missing piece in our AI debate: the minerals powering this revolution come from the Global South.

A cooperative economic approach that places people at the centre, especially at the grassroots, is essential for rebuilding trust, strengthening belonging and shaping a better future for our community

Motion 2 calls out racist graffiti painted alongside the St George’s Flag in #Dartford, deliberate acts meant to divide communities.

The motion commits the Council to unity, fairness, equality and anti racism. Reform Party members abstained.

From the 60s to 90s the St George’s Flag was misused by far right groups to intimidate Black and Brown Britons.

History reminds us why standing firm against hate still matters today. No one should feel unsafe because of who they are or where they are from.
