This research propose a new science-based protocol to monitor macaques 🐒 and related primate 🦍🦧 species combining the efficiency of conservation technology 🎤📷 and the flexibility of direct human observations 🚶.

However survey time effort ⌛ plays a key role in this differences in detectability. Both audio-visual sensor methods needed at least 2 consecutive days of data collection to equal point-transects, highlighting the usefulness of human based point transects when survey time is limited.
