Friends, getting to catch Trick'r Treat on the big screen was an absolute delight. Watching Michael Dougherty's love letter to Halloween was made all the better by seeing it with some of the theater Family... and even scaring a couple of them after the screening! 🎃

Friends, had the pleasure of catching an early screening for TRON: Ares - film was quite fun to say the least. As a longtime fan of the TRON franchise, was grateful for the obvious love for the previous films throughout the movie.

Grateful to spend a few hours on the Grid once again!

It's behind me, isn't it? Always a treat to hit the Spirit Halloween to celebrate the upcoming season - although I am a little concerned about my new friend following me home. 🎃

"Tell me, have you the brawn to match the riddle me this, why are you like a bride on her wedding day? Because you're about to be unveiled."

Friends, I have over the years shared my love of the character of the Riddler... on more than one occasion.

"I keep telling you, this isn't 'a few birds'! These are gulls, crows, swifts...!" - The Birds (1963)

Friends, was able to take a night off with my better half and stumbled across this Funko Pop of Melanie Daniels (Tippi Hedren) from The Birds.

"It's kryptonite, Superman. A little piece of the rock you were born on. I've spared no expense to make you feel right at home." - Superman (1978)

Friends, had the pleasure of catching the new Superman film with members of the theater family last night - a whole lot of fun.

"Dr. Grant, my dear Dr. Sattler, welcome... to Jurassic Park." - Jurassic Park (1993)

Friends, just because it is busy with the opening of Jurassic World: Rebirth - that doesn't mean we can't have some fun while serving the patrons!

"Vengeance blackens the soul, Bruce. I've always feared that you would become that which you fought against. You walk the edge of that abyss every night, but you haven't fallen in and I thank heaven for that." Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993)

"I was trained to be an actor, not a star. I was trained to play roles, not to deal with fame and agents and lawyers and the press." - Gene Hackman (1930 - 2025)

Friends, while I did have to work on New Year's Eve, I made sure that I dropped off the annual Great Bluedini Kool-Aid to the arcade and the theater before heading to the hotel.

I was able to accomplish the traditional Super Mario Bros. 'Minus World's trick at home on the Switch.

"Saint Nicholas is not coming this year. Instead, a much darker, ancient spirit. His name is Krampus. He and his helpers did not come to give, but to take. He is the shadow of Saint Nicholas." - Krampus (2015)

Nothing wrong with a reminder of the true meaning of the Spirit of the Season.

Friends, I'm not sure who is in charge of the programming at AMC these last couple of weekends, but I am quite grateful for the vintage entertainment in the early morning.

Such as The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus - a Rankin and Bass stop motion holiday classic.

Friends, I was able to best Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! this morning, once again in honor of my grandmother. Unlike the original game, this one actually took me a bit longer to reach 100% completion - gave the thumbs and fingers a workout.

Now... it is on to Spyro: Year of the Dragon!

"Now for some real User power." - TRON (1982)

Friends, due to our cat being rather unpredictable when it comes to setting up a tree for the Holidays - we have had to forego the usual decoration for quite some time.

Thankfully I came across this one that looks like it was taken from the Game Grid!

Friends, if you've read my articles on gaming or listened to the podcasts, you might recall my Grandmother was quite a gamer. She was rather fond of Spyro the Dragon but was unable to finish them.

I decided last night in my Grandmother's honor I would complete the first game. Task accomplished.

Friends, long ago in my youth, I was always fascinated by the blow mold Holiday decorations that my Grandparents put out at this time of year. While not vintage, I am extremely glad to see local chains offering them more frequently - to say nothing of being quite affordable.

Friends, had the pleasure of catching the 1981 adaptation of The Day of the Triffids at the Haunted Drive-In this evening. A fantastic miniseries that presents a rather intense and apocalyptic science-fiction threat - although it appears humanity is the greater danger.

Ever see this one?

"Are you familiar with the defendant J. Thaddeus Toad?" - The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Road (1949)

Was given a pleasant surprise this evening - a gift from my better half. The esteemed J. Thaddeus Toad in Funko Pop form. Now if I could procure a motor car for the dear chap!

Although it is barely held together with aged tape - this original Dungeon! board game of mine has seen countless adventurers delve it's dangerous depths in the hopes of collecting vast treasures and magical items!

Friends, when this photo was taken at Universal Studios Orlando ages ago - it was possibly one of my biggest cases to date. I had already experienced my fair share of plug-uglies - but this guy - he was something of a King.

Thankfully we were able to settle our differences. Peacefully. 😆
