why is this mayoral election different than all other mayoral elections?
in all other mayoral elections, we get to see andrew cuomo lose but once. but in this mayoral elections, we get to see him lose *twice*.

Apparently I don’t gotta lose it tomorrow 🤗
I swear to god if the blue lady loses in Jersey and Mamdani isn't mayor when I wake up tomorrow I'm going to lose it.

I also need Zohran to win because I dunno what this Mikie Sherill lady in Jersey is about but I do know the gubernatorial margin is way too thin and my mailbox is full of compelling mailers about why she sucks.
If Mamdani wins, I solemnly swear I will do my best to squat in one of the vacated apartments left by the fleeing millionaires that priced me out of my hometown two years ago.

Got some light weekend reading for y’all.
My Meta Ray-Ban Display review. It’s got impressive tech in it but it’s very much a first-gen device.
But there are much larger cultural questions: Do we want this future and if so, how do we build it ethically?

The future I saw through the Meta Ray-Ban Display amazes and terrifies me
This very first-gen device raises several questions about where the next chapter of mobile computing is headed.

This week on Optimizer, I enlisted @seanhollister.bsky.social ‘s help in testing some prototype AI glasses that claim to help make you smarter.
We ended up on a call where we spent half the time bobbing our heads like deranged seals.

I also kind of looked like a deranged sea lion on a video call.

The future of being trans on the internet
The internet has long been a source of information and support for transgender people. Now, trans rights and the internet itself are in a moment of crisis. What happens next?

I got distracted earlier, but my Pixel Watch 4 review. Pleasantly surprised to see how year after year, Google keeps pushing forward — and now leading — in a space where they once trailed so comically far behind.

I've spent the last month pondering Friend, AI companions, and what really defines a true friendship. I've been staring at the graffiti-ed ads while I commute.
