The first half feels like a fairytale, but then you start to wonder when you're gonna get hit by reality
Letterboxd review of "Anora" ☆☆☆☆: I had fun watching this, but at the same time, I felt really sad at the end. The movie handles the shifts in tone incredibly well—at times it's absolutely hilarious, and in some moments, it feels a bit Safdie-esque with all the anxiety-filled scenes pouring off the screen, and then at the end it feels so sad and devastating, as you see Ani's life and dreams being ripped apart Mild spoilers: My hearth broke for Ani, the moment she finally realised Ivan never really gave a shit about her, and that all of this was just a pastime before he hets back to Russia.
