Conservation volunteer, environmentalist, linguist & friend, West Norfolk. I love Latin & learning languages including French, German, Welsh & Portuguese; "slow" travel by bicycle, foot, bus & train; my allotment; the countryside; and knitting socks.
Fair enough. I've only seen private, members only ones before. That's good if there are some that are less exclusive.

That's an interesting one, because it also implies that public golf courses are a thing. Are they? 🤔

Haha, I seem to recall from my misspent youth, joyriding in shopping trolleys 😂, that if you lift the trolley over the supermarket boundary rather than push it, it stops the lock being activated? Someone had pushed these a mile from the store to the green anyway, so they got them out somehow haha 🤷

They can come in handy. When two were abandoned on our Doorstep Green last year, we made use of them. Turns out they actually make fairly decent wheelbarrows! We've kept them!

Sounds intriguing!

My household has boycotted Amazon since 2006. The consumer apps coming out to help sound positive - I've long wished there was a way of blocking Amazon from search results as a search for a product on a search engine usually produces 3/4 results from them or Temu.

Absolutely. I personally know people too scared of the bureaucracy to claim for the carers' allowance and even state pension they really should be claiming. They just quietly struggle on instead. I'd guess that across the country people underclaiming vastly outnumber those fraudulently claiming.

Then last year, I camped next to a family who believed in the lot.. Flat Earth, chemtrails, Covid being a hoax, climate change being a hoax, vaccines for control, 5G is for brainwashing, you name it. Overhearing their conversations was like being on a parallel world!

I saw the same on Nextdoor. Pictures of the contrails, which we all know aeroplanes leave, with comments like "this is unnatural!". Well.. yeah. Bit of a leap to suggest that's proof we're being poisoned, even so!

Ah, similar to Knight's Hill on the outskirts of Lynn then, from where you can see over the farms out to sea yet is only 50m above sea level.. Because most of Lynn itself is pretty much at sea level.
Sounds great! 👍

You look like you're a good few metres above sea level there, unless those are dwarf trees.

Is that the spot where you can see Lincoln Cathedral?
March 6, 2025 at 4:12 PM
It certainly looks pretty unfriendly!

I also relate to above comments. My household has boycotted Amazon since 2007, only tried Twitter once very briefly years ago and would only eat fastfood if it was the only option to avoid starving. I engage with Facebook sparingly now.

Oh no 😂. 2 hours of watching those two "chase" you.. 🫣😂

😱 Please tell me that picture's not going to be your studio background tonight! 😂
