People assume that anything different is automatically scary and bad. They've been trained to believe that their way of being is the best and only so a different philosophy or way of life is a direct threat to their lives. Also that people are out to take what's theirs instead of everyone sharing.

Don't worry. Lindsay Graham said Trump should be Pope. Since the Pope is allegedly the voice of G-d on earth, Heaven will also soon be heavily redlined and Hell will be in El Salvador.

Like, we were all doing the same catechism, right? You were there for the same sermons I was. And now you're screaming at trans people and service workers and moms on welfare and being horrible to your children. And saying "I'll understand when I'm an adult". I still don't understand and I'm 45.

I mean, basically the same. I was born Catholic and left the faith in my 20s. But I remember really taking the Beatitudes/"be like a child to enter heaven"/the good Samaritan, etc and taking it to heart.
And being really really confused and upset when everyone else at Church didn't follow it IRL

If I can get myself out of the frozen funk I'm in (fight, flight or freeze...I freeze), I'll try to think of ways to subversively teach and give access to learning. I'm just not in that head space at the moment

For the record, I'm against the violation of due process committed by ICE across the board. But if you're going to deport any "criminal immigrants", start with the South African apartheid nepo baby who committed corruption and election fraud. Send him to the gulag instead.
