As far as I can tell, “pasteurised yoghurt” isn’t actually available in the UK at the moment but some people DIY it

It’s a little tricky to be sure, but in that last photo it looks like she’s looking at the camera but you’re looking at her 🥰

Honestly no one should use that stuff, the rebound is awful. (And, on a different subject, I’m glad to see you back!)

They would have had access to essentially entirely publicly-funded antenatal care and hospital birth, including the option of a midwifery group practice program (entirely midwife-led antenatal care and hospital birth). www.peninsulahealth.org.au/services/wom...

Being pregnant can be very exciting, but it can also be a scary time. Not all pregnancies are planned, and there can be lots of stress around how you might be able to incorporate a baby into your life...

This article is much more recent and based on what was said in coroner’s court just the other day. The original article is a couple of months old and based on her husband’s Instagram post.

(And they ran out of her blood type during her treatment, technically.)

It’s not even the first time THIS YEAR that this birth support worker has been involved in a coroner’s case! (She hadn’t actually attended that birth, and the coroner didn’t find against her, but it’s still horrifying.) www.news.com.au/lifestyle/pa...

She didn’t have any antenatal care beyond a single blood test, either. It’s possible that she had underlying health problems or an undiagnosed pregnancy complication that would have made her unsuitable for a homebirth.

It seems quite clear to me that a hospital birth would have been much safer for her. A homebirth (with a midwife) would also have been a significant improvement, because a midwife probably would have called the ambulance sooner and made sure they could get in and out of the house quicker.
December 12, 2025 at 3:08 PM
There was no midwife. It was a freebirth, not a homebirth. She had a post-partum haemorrhage. Even once the ambulance arrived, they had a lot of difficulty getting her out if the house, further delaying access to even quite basic medical care like blood transfusions. www.abc.net.au/news/2025-12...

But LLMs aren’t actually good at those things?

This didn’t feel especially surprising to me. Sometimes people make very significant disclosures to strangers or near-strangers because they don’t have anyone else to tell and then an opportunity comes up, or because it feels safer to tell someone who isn’t closely connected to the situation.

Australia, “two thirty” or “half past two”, the “PM” would almost always be implied by the context rather than explicitly said but if I had to specify I’d probably say “in the afternoon” rather than “PM”

I think the Kelly McGonigal thing is perhaps also why a short burst of physical activity can help? If your body’s preparing for a physical challenge that isn’t coming, giving it a little physical challenge to rise to might be scratching that itch? Nothing major, general flailing on the spot works 😝

I know you said you have limited data. The Brené Brown concept is from one of her books (Atlas of the Heart, I think) and the Kelly McGonigal TED Talk should have a transcript. I haven’t read her books, but the titles sound like they’re on a similar theme to the talk.

Sometimes reframing helps. Anxiety and excitement are very similar! So asking “am I anxious or am I excited?” can help. (Hat tip to Brené Brown for that one.) Another one is thinking of anxiety as being your body trying to help you prepare for a challenge. (H/T Kelly McGonigal’s TED Talk)

First up: I try to be non-judgmental about emotions. It’s OK to feel anxious, and fighting emotions sometimes prolongs them. Sometimes you’ve just gotta feel your feelings and let them run their course to be able to move on to a new one. Sometimes it’s surprising how quickly that happens! 😅
