The reason they voted for this madness is because all those Republicans are beholden to the Republican commentariat. As long as these votes are public, they have no opportunity to oppose the the political peanut gallery without bringing down insane pressure against them in their next primary.
Some “moderate” Republicans flipped & ended up supporting this evil budget resolution. They voted to cut Medicaid & services their constituents depend on. The budget fight isn’t over. But if you are represented by any of these people that voted yes.. make sure they hear from you.
Congressional Republicans tried to pull a fast one. They called off the budget vote that cuts healthcare for over 38 million children and just put it back up after everyone left to try and make some Democrats miss the vote. Many Dems are voting by card to keep the vote open. I just did mine.

What's even worse is that the system that lets USAID workers and diplomatic staff securely report security threats and request evacuation has been turned off.
So, we're basically at zero readiness to prevent another Benghazi-style attack.

I am really frustrated that the press is discussing the destruction of USAID as something that has happened rather than an illegal action that will likely be undone in two weeks when courts tell the world that it was illegal.

For some reason, I keep finding myself listening to certain tracks from the Gundam SEED soundtrack. You know, the ones where Rau le Creuset is ranting about how "fingers have no purpose but to pull triggers".
I can't imagine why I'd be listening now. Man, this is stressful.
