And I think it got more expensive post covid. I moved here just as covid started closing all the borders so I feel pretty lucky on that front at least.

I moved my cat from LA to NZ in 2020. You'll need to do a lot of prep work for the import licence (rabies vaccine, blood work, vet sign offs) and you have to pay for transport in cargo so your pet goes straight into quarantine. It's a minimum of 10 days. The process is quite pricey too
