Have you ever tried sapodilla? I was at the market and another customer was buying lots of these. I've never seen them before and got a few, not knowing what they were at the time (I thought they were plums!) It was such a surprise to bite into a fruit and taste a rich caramel-like sweetness

I feel so seen at Ijysheng Bakery in Taipei! They have so many Asian vegan bakery items, including lots of savory items. Their glaze looks like a normal egg wash and this sweet potato “yolk” was the perfect grainy texture with the right amount of umami 1000/10 impressed!

Lost in translation 🤣 When possible, I like to check out the menu before going to a restaurant, using Google Translate — I was intrigued by “Bamboo and the Treasure of Life and Death". And " Unicorn Tofu”? Yes, please! Alas, the menu had changed and I never got to find out what they were! 😅

This has got to be my favorite vegan bite in Hanoi! A "pork" crackling that's accurate both in its crisp texture and smoky flavor (it's made out of tofu skin!)
