Fighting for walkable neighborhoods, local businesses & better transportation in Duluth. Let's build a city that works for everyone! 🚶‍♀️👨‍🦽🚲🚌🚗 https://linktr.ee/vibrantstreetsduluth
We hit our first fundraising goal! The Telraam S2 sensor is coming to Duluth.

Now we're pushing for the bike lane sweeper. What routes would you clean? All bike routes should be cleaned monthly.

Let's make it happen together. Learn more and donate here: secure.everyaction.com/_VfVlc0E3U6B...

Hey everybody, we're fundraising for safer and cleaner streets in Duluth!

We want to help concerned community members collect data, document their problem, and build momentum for proven traffic calming tools.

We also want to have a physical impact by cleaning dirty, and debris filled bike lanes!

"It was a no-brainer to help out, because cycling is about community."

People who bike care deeply about the community they live in. @vibrantstreetsdlh.bsky.social is 'biking the talk' to ensure that neighbors have access to food.
Local bicyclists deliver 300 pounds of food donations
The store's owners collected donations from their customers, and a dozen members of their ambassador crew biked nine minutes to drop off donations.

When the Blatnik Bridge was built, Hammond Avenue’s boulevard came out for cars. When Superior rebuilt it, Mayor Paine asked: why not bring back the beautiful street we used to have? So they did. 🌳

E-bikes give older residents joy, help families build wealth, and reconnect people with community. Our roads should reflect this reality, not 1985. A nice future is possible - we just have to choose it.

6th Avenue East is changing! 🎉

Four lanes becoming three. Green medians going in. This highway relic dividing Hillside is becoming a street that connects the neighborhood again.

Shows what happens when neighbors organize and refuse to accept dangerous streets.

Walking on this pedestrian-only path through Washington Square and realized how rare these dedicated walkways are. No traffic, direct route, peaceful journey. Duluth's forgotten walking network could be the key to making our city more connected if we valued these spaces again.

Meet Val, who values the outdoor walking time their Denfeld-to-downtown bus commute adds to their day, but crossing Grand Ave safely can be a challenge.

Tips for new riders? Start with a simple trip when time isn't tight.

Traffic signals that make us wait too long to cross aren't just annoying—they're dangerous.

Research shows pedestrians start crossing against the light after 30+ seconds.

Our streets prioritize car flow over pedestrian safety and convenience.

What's your least favorite intersection to cross?

Our first Transit Talk explored what happens when you can't drive in a city built for cars. 30% of Americans don't have a license—who gets left out when transportation requires driving? Eye-opening stories from our panelists. Join our next discussion on passenger rail coming soon!

New research confirms highways divide more than just landscapes - they fracture social connections.

In Duluth, I-35 doesn't just separate downtown from our waterfront; it creates dead zones between neighborhoods.

What areas of Duluth do you feel are most disconnected by highways? 🤔

Walked the same block twice in my neighborhood today. Smooth, perfect pavement for cars. Cracked, uneven sidewalk for everyone else.

What does this say about our priorities? #streetsforpeople @bikemn.bsky.social
