We have a new publication! 🥳 Our qualitative Postpartum Outcomes and Extension of Medicaid (POEM for Equity) study explores how COVID-19 related Medicaid expansions were implemented in three states. We also take a look at how its impacted access to pregnancy and postpartum health care. 🕵🏽

Our recent study has been featured in @cupublichealth.bsky.social's Maternal and Reproductive Health News! We found that microaggressions during pregnancy/delivery are linked to higher blood pressure, with associations being highest in the later postpartum period.

The words “calm down” are worse than unhelpful: they can actually increase blood pressure among new mothers of color, our recent study ("Racism and Postpartum Blood Pressure in a Multiethnic Prospective Cohort") has found.
