Great start for #BAGECO25 w/ interesting talks from the impact of invasive microbes, land use intensity in environmental microbial communities 🌱 💦 to probiotics and gut microbes to promote human health … showing the wide spectrum of #microbiomes and its relevance under #OneHealth context! 🌎

It was a great experience to take part at the #LNDW25 at @mdc-berlin.bsky.social as part of the Forslund Lab and present to the general public about the wonders of the gut #microbiome and it’s importance to #health ⚕️… We did a fantastic work at the pub quiz 🤓 💪🏼 and got the golden microscope!!! 🏆🔬

We found known symbiotic bacteria had a strong association to mucosal innate and adaptive immunity, but interestingly the parasitic hookworm Ancylostoma is strongly linked only with adaptive immune response (4/6)

Overall, mucosal immunity has a larger effect on the intestinal bacteria compared to other intestinal microbial components, either parasite or fungi (3/6)
