The ICE raids are not just a civil rights issue, but a human rights issue. The model for how to secure those rights is an American model. May the spirits of the great civil rights leaders guide us now. One cannot say they respect them while ignoring the lessons they gave us.

This is how we teach civics in my house. We don't recite pledges to flags. We talk about responsibility. We love our neighbors, and we live our convictions. Even if it might hurt.

I'm keeping the eye. My eye glass lens saved the eye. I was targeted. No one was near me. And my bullhorn was on full blast. I think this is an example that the content of a peaceful man's speech can be more powerful than any rock or fire bomb.
