Disabled, for sure. I honestly don’t know about how many dead. I think people have written about this; but everyone knows that, as per the Friedman Doctrine, making money is the most moral and honorable thing one can do. I wonder if this effect has a name.

That is a rather terrifying prospect I prefer not to contemplate.

I think this whole county has a brain drain problem due to money. Doctors routinely go two counties over to make big money, leaving us with… almost nothing.

A couple weeks after that, I finally saw the actual doctor (turns out he’s a real person!) and got a good explanation for why they wanted the bone to heal naturally.

And when I finally went to that appointment, he wasn’t there. Instead, I got to talk to a physician assistant (PA) who frankly sucked and explained about 2% of the nature of my injury.

Actually, it was all interns. No one over 25. There was supposed to be a doctor he was not there. They gave me paperwork so I could make an appointment to see him, but he only sees patients on Thursdays—five days after I was injured.

Oh, I forgot to mention. The great pyrenees loves to rest outside. She’ll sleep outside in freezing temperatures if allowed to. Reminds me of someone and his affinity for a cold bathtub.

The ER gave me a sling, but it’s mostly useless. In fact, I was eventually instructed not to wear it, as I need to keep moving my elbow and shoulder joint at least a little, so they won’t seize up. (Speaking of that, don’t get me started on how shitty the ER was…)

So far, they don’t think I need surgery. Apparently the clavicle is somewhat unique among bones, in that the body can create a knot of new bone (heh) even when the pieces are nearly separated (which mine are).

This year’s fox has been out and sometimes barks at the dogs (and me) when we’re playing. She keeps her distance, though, and hides in the woods. Probably best for everyone involved. There are a lot of hunters around here and I don’t want her getting comfortable around humans or pets.

They’re doing well. I finally got their first vet appointments scheduled.

It’s not all great; they managed to trip me during a leash walk and I broke my collarbone in several places. Now we only do walks in the fenced field (about 1½ acres), without leashes, while I heal.

I kept meaning to tell you about an anime called Zenshu. Main character is an animation director (hand drawn, not computer) who finds herself transported into a world based on the dark anime movie that she saw as a kid and which inspired her to become an animator. Not sure if it’d be your thing.

Yeah, an old decommissioned PC. I use it to block off parts of furniture which are vulnerable to puppy attacks. The German shepherd is Macy, about 2 years old. The other is a great pyrenees mix, Nala, about 8 months old. And she acts 8 months old. Very tiring. (I didn’t name them.)
