A final run of Skyrim pressings is set to go up on October 16, according to today’s Spacelab9 newsletter. Once these sell out, it will be discontinued “for the foreseeable future”.

It has now been confirmed by US Customs & Border Protection that records, tapes, CDs and other forms of physical media continue to be covered by “informational material” exemptions.

It’s Random VGM Saturday!
Cult PS2 horror yuri visual novel Akai Ito finally got a shot at a wider release with modern ports and a localization in 2023, and earlier this year the folks at @veryokvinyl.com pressed Manyo’s enchanting soundtrack onto these gorgeous, evocative color-in-color discs.

The album also includes both opening and ending vocal tracks, which tends to be a rarity with Japanese works. Legends tell of this release being delayed for months trying to secure one of them… Akai Ito vinyl discs, in a black-on-transluscent red and black-on-transluscent blue colorway. This set is limited to 500 units.

Discogs article posted August 27: Everything We Know About the US Tariff Situation and How It Affects the Discogs Community Records and Other Physical Media Should Be Exempt Vinyl records, CDs, cassettes, and other recorded media should be exempt from any tariffs under US presidential executive order. The executive order going into effect on August 29, 2025, removes a long-standing “de minimis” tariff exemption for most goods valued under USD $800. However, this change does not apply to “informational materials” like music media, which are still exempt from tariffs under US law 50 USC 1702(b)(3). Simply put, music and informational media have always been exempt from tariffs and continue to be so at this time. This means neither sellers nor collectors on Discogs should be charged additional customs fees. Be Prepared for Potential Delays and Complications Taxes and duties are challenging to navigate, even when the rules aren’t changing. While music and informational media should be exempt, customs and postal carriers may experience delays or mistakes as they adjust to the new requirements. Many national postal services have already announced that they are pausing all shipments to the US to give themselves time to prepare accordingly. We expect other postal services to make changes over the coming weeks, and we’ll do our best to keep track of this information. Meanwhile, commercial carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and DHL Express are continuing to move shipments into the US at this time, but these options may come at a higher price than usual. These changes could cause some confusion about orders, resulting in negative feedback or refund requests. Discogs will continue to review and remove negative feedback that violates our guidelines or comes as a direct result of recent changes to shipping and customs regulations. As shipping services resume to the US, we will be partnering with sellers around the world to test shipments through different postal carriers. We’ll share practical shipping tips as we learn more in the coming weeks. Recommendations for Sellers We can’t guarantee that everything will run smoothly with postal carriers or customs. However, we have a few recommendations that should help with the processing of your shipments into the US. Provide clear descriptions. We strongly recommend including precise descriptions. For example, instead of “vinyl,” use “Informational Materials: phonograph (vinyl) record” as this phrase is more in line with the legal terminology. Use the correct HS codes. Please use the appropriate Harmonized System (HS) codes, which can be found on the commercial receipt provided by Discogs. In addition, postal shipping methods (EMS, Airmail, Surface) may be subject to a flat tariff of USD 80 per parcel. As USPS has not yet issued an official statement, this surcharge is not confirmed. However, if applied, shipments below approximately USD 500 may be more economical via couriers such as ECMS, FedEx, DHL, or UPS, which use percentage-based tariffs. Starting August 29, 2025, the duty-free threshold will be eliminated, and customs duties will be applied. However, as of August 19, 2025, the exact procedures for customs declaration and duty payment to U.S. Customs are still unclear. In preparation for upcoming changes, multiple services are either suspending or modifying their processes for US-bound shipments while the dust settles.
Couriers like UPS/DHL/FedEx should continue operating, but parcels will be subject to taxation by the Aug. 29 deadline.

Notice from the Zenmarket proxy shopping service. Their own ZenExpress service was removed as a US-bound shipping option on August 15, with its last dispatch scheduled for August 20. ECMS would require pre-payment of customs duties for parcels posted after August 20.

Please note that parcels with Chinese-made products are particularly severely affected in this regard and already made ineligible for De Minimis exemptions.
Notice posted by the US branch of Yostar’s Official Store. Parcels with declared values under $185 are subject to a $100 flat rate. Those with values of $185 and above are subject to a 54% tariff rate. It is noted that this has been lowered from a 120% rate.

As of this post the elimination of De Minimis exceptions is set for August 29.
I strongly advise to get any international orders for in-stock items out of the way ASAP, and plan ahead to pay tariffs associated with outstanding preorders.

Stretch goals include production of further Mana albums as well as vinyl pressings for Xeno Cross and Chrono Cinematica.
Xeno Cross- VINYL EDITION ($70k stretch goal) Chrono Cross and Xenogears as never heard before- a unique interwoven symphonic tapestry of themes from both soundtracks. For years I have been asked about vinyl releases for my Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, and Xenogears albums... Now, this project can evolve into a true Squaresoft tribute- with your help we can finally make it happen and bring the whole set to vinyl! Chrono Cinematica- VINYL EDITION ($80k stretch goal) My most requested vinyl release from fans- an hour and a half of epic renditions from the legendary Chrono Trigger! My second ever "Cinematica" album, which began as an attempt to visualize my favorite game music through the lens of a film score. And a fitting peak for our campaign given the fact that Chrono Trigger and Secret Of Mana were once the same game during Nintendo's experiment with their first CD console, before the titles were separated into their own projects.
