Specifically speaking on scripted productions as that’s what I assumed you were referring to. Reality shows are cheap, easy and fast to push out. Streaming networks do their best to pay as little as they can. Which is why there have been so many industry strikes every time union contracts are up.

Agreed. The issue 100% lies with the episodic productions moving from predominantly network to streaming. For example Netflix only does 3 season commitment contracts at a time. Then they have to renegotiate terms including pay which seems to be where shows fall apart and get cancelled.
