Terich Mir is the tallest peak in the Hindukush mountain range. Only a handful of climbers have taken it on. Most recently in 2023, Japanese mountaineers Kazuya Hiraide and Kenro Nakajima ascended its north face, claiming a new route. Both men tragically passed on K2 in July 2024.

My cat is named Mouse because that’s what I thought the tiny fellow was when he came running out at me in the bazaar. He might be the only neutered and vaccinated house cat in the region—for these we had to take him 12 hours to the nearest vet in Islamabad. I love him.
