I should bring a d20 with me at all times. Roll for stealth at parties but if I fail, I have to stay. Roll for perception and if I fail, I can choose to ignore someone.

I’ve gotten to the point that I’m not surprised anymore. I’ll just dead stare at you and blink until you uncomfortably move away.

Things that make me a “bad Asian”

🤷‍♀️ I don’t like tapioca boba (popping boba is okay).

🤷‍♀️ I can’t handle my spice. No wasabi, curry, or chili paste for me.

🤷‍♀️ I wear my house slippers outside the house.

🤷‍♀️ I always forget to use Vicks.

🤷‍♀️ I can’t speak Tagalog or Ilocano.

🤷‍♀️ I never did Kumon.

I miss Code Lyoko, Jackie Chan Adventures, As Told By Ginger, and American Dragon Jake Long. I am happy though that there’s more Asian representation not just in cartoons but across all genres.

Very Asian things that I do now in my cultural acceptance phase:

Celebrate Lunar New Year
Peel clementines for my kids
Look up words in Tagalog that encapsulate the feelings of community
Look out for Asian American creatives to purchase from my store
Appreciate the diaspora
