This is still a super fun manga! Consistently goofy but with very poignant moments. Volume 14 features a fun murder mystery side plot that had me laughing the whole way through.

Daemons of the Shadow Realm vol 6, Hiromu Arakawa
Fun to return to this after a break. It still feels like it's building up to some more clear, big conflict at this point. There are a LOT of characters to keep track of. But the action is still good!

My wife got the Broken Binding edition of this series - she didn't like it lol, but I did! Fun to reread after ~15 years😅 VERY slow burn story, a lot of mystery, major cliffhangers for the rest of the series. I'm surprised I remembered as much as I did!

My wife got the Broken Binding edition of this series - she didn't like it lol, but I did! Fun to reread after ~15 years😅 VERY slow burn story, a lot of mystery, major cliffhangers for the rest of the series. I'm surprised I remembered as much as I did!

7th Son: Descent, by J. C. Hutchins
Took a long time to get through this one, started it during a beach vacation and just got super stuck. It's fine, 3.5/5, very slow. The main characters are all clones of the villain, all with similar names. I kept losing track of them. Interesting ideas 🤷

7th Son: Descent, by J. C. Hutchins

Another four job fiesta done!
Mastering red mage gives dual cast (2 spells in a turn). Time mage has quick, which gives two turns after casting. 2x quick and meteor (4 non-elem, random damage hits), then 2 of 2x meteor destroys all bosses in the final dungeon.
Blue magic is top tier, as always.

Finished up my FFV Four Job Fiesta! Offline this year because summer is always a mess with work and trying to stream. Pretty easy run -- Black, Blue, Red mages, and Chemist to round it out. !Mix on a Black Mage is absurdly good. Final boss is very easy with this combo.

Finished up my FFV Four Job Fiesta! Offline this year because summer is always a mess with work and trying to stream. Pretty easy run -- Black, Blue, Red mages, and Chemist to round it out. !Mix on a Black Mage is absurdly good. Final boss is very easy with this combo.

I've been playing some indie RPG demos for a demo-review video, and I played through one for The Time I Have Left ( @groundga.bsky.social ). This is an *extremely* cool game, a mystery-exploration game with turn-based combat, dodging/parrying mechanics. It's tense. Great dark vibes. Check it out!

About 3 years ago, my wife pulled a black kitten out of a bush. He was extremely feral then and clawed the heck out of her hand 😅 but he's become a super snuggle man in the time we've had him. Happy gotcha day(ish) to Hugh, our void!

New Moonrider PB! Felt like I got stuck at a high 39 for a long time, but have improved by a bit more than 2 minutes over the last week and change. Very nice to get back to this one.

I've been running Skyblazer here and there, since it's in Speedromizer in June and I'm teaching a new learner! Been making a lot of progress. Got stuck for a while at a high 28 over the last year or so, but got this run tonight, which is actually a 27 flat. Fixing a few mistakes will get the 26!

We have an enclosed catio where our boys can hang out. "Enclosed" means that it has firm wire mesh that the cats can't get through, but smaller critters can -- including this snake! Eastern Garter Snake that had a minor encounter with our cats. Didn't bite anyone, fortunately, but needed relocation.

65 hours later, I finally finished Fantasian: Neo Dimension last night after picking away at in since it released in November. Though it drags on a bit and the character developments lags behind toward the end, it's a great, almost excellent, JRPG with some thoughtful mechanics to build challenge.
