Merely price matching NVIDIA's RTX 5070, which would do them no good. They really do need to undercut them by at least $150 to garner any interest in the GPUs, even if it means selling at a loss. NVIDIA's mindshare is just too strong and AMD needs to be far more competitive that pricing -50-100...

...It all comes down to pricing. If it's raster performance is indeed between the 7900 XT and XTX, and it's ray tracing is indeed improved as the leak 3D Mark Speedy score indicates, AMD could have a winner if they price this at $400. On the otherhand, given how RDNA3 flopped, I could see them...

Iteration of Fidelity FX Super Res (though still behind DLSS 4 obviously). Leak for the 9070 XT shows a Time Spy Extreme score of 14558, versus 13109 for the 7900XT and 15262 for the XTX. Considering a previous leak had it only 2% ahead of the mid range 7900 GRE, this is a welcome improvement...

I do remain cautiously optimistic for AMD. Zen 5 is mostly a success, even if a lot of that success is owed to Intel fumbling hard with Raptor Lake's self-destruct fiasco and the under-performing Arrow Lake. The recent leaks for AMD's new Radeon cards does seem promising, as does the the next...
