I was about to say that anyone who passed up the chance to see the last US eclipse for 20 years (or whatever it is) is a fool; but then I realized you have the wherewithal to fly anywhere in the world to see any eclipse you like.

But, with that said,after reading the article, I'd say the issue is that he failed to appear at some sort of hearing in 2022.
More details would be needed to make a measured opinion. Immigration hearing? Legal hearing?
