We made it there intact! Tough to cut (looking at you, pecan pie layer) but surprisingly not overwhelming! More like a dessert sampler all in one. It received praise all around. Maybe I would make it again one day....

And for the final effort of "putting lipstick on a pig," I added some whipped cream. This conveniently finished the heavy cream container taking up precious fridge real estate. I'm so scared to transport this thing to a neighboring state tomorrow! Pray it will survive, and for us who eat it.

Thank goodness for crumb coats. The second frosting layer made it on, and the apple pie topping. I tried to be a little artistic with the apple slices

This... this step is breaking me a bit. One must cut down the pie and cake layers to the same(ish) size, then frost between and around. I was attempting to crumb coat here and figured the pies would be tough, but it's actually the cake layer that's being a bitch! I hope she enjoys the fridge!!

Production has resumed and the cinnamon buttercream is made. Now to glue it all together

Took a break and ate and cleaned and stuff. Last part for today: "apple pie" topping. This and all the layers are going in the fridge overnight to firm up. Frosting and assembly tomorrow

Spice cake layer is out. Getting in my head about whether people in my husband's picky family will actually eat this thing

Pumpkin layer is out. Aesthetics don't matter because it will be in the middle! What am I doing!

The base layer of pecan pie is cooling.
