The corresponding changes in patterns of functional connectivity with the rest of the brain appear to distinguish between:
1️⃣ higher-order transmodal control -> lower-order perceptually-driven cognition
2️⃣ task-general -> memory-specific roles

We show that left IFG function, as indexed by task-free and task-based functional connectivity, varies along two superimposed spatial dimensions:
1️⃣ Anterior-posterior
2️⃣ Dorsal-ventral
