I guess I beat the main story of the DLC, credits rolled and everything, but there's still more to do, since wherever Groudon and Kyogre are, Rayquaza is around too, so I have to fight and catch that one next. More stuff to do, more game to play. But apparently, there is a mode I can unlock where you face off with -every- Rogue Mega Pokemon in a row, with limited breaks and healing. A true endurance gauntlet... That's why we've got moves like Drain Punch on Gallade or Draining Kiss on Clefable. And that's something I've usually seen in ROM hacks (such as fighting multiple Gym Leaders in a row) but not really in any official games.

In this DLC, par for the course, you can face and catch old Legendaries, like Groudon and Kyogre (and their Primal forms)
There's no abilities in ZA,
And yet...
Primal Groudon still has Desolate Land anyway, nullifying any Water-type attacks, patching up its 4x weakness
What the heck
It's a two phase fight where you have to fight the base form first, then its Primal form, and it'll be the same case with Kyogre too. Feraligatr easily dealt with regular Groudon but can't do anything to Primal Groudon. That's a bit buh.

Rotom has also returned in the DLC
There's a fight you can do against all five Rotom forms (albeit.... very needlessly padded out, fighting one at a time, with the battle starting over each time, buh), and afterwards you get the appliance catalog item that tends to be the method to change Rotom's form. 'Course I still gotta actually find a Rotom now... it's also not as good in a game without abilities (so no Levitate to patch up its Ground weakness) admittedly. Still, it's here somewhere now, so I gotta get one myself.

So the whole thing with the Mega Dimension DLC is that you have to fight Pokemon that are BEYOND Lv 100
You can make donuts with berries that will also boost your Pokemon's levels past Lv 100, to give you a better fighting chance
And.... yeah, these Lv 100+ Pokemon are no joke at all
I've never really seen something like this before, where even my team of Lv 100 Pokemon are struggling. There's one mission that pits you against two rogue Mega Pokemon both at once and they SLAUGHTERED my team. What the hell. It's neat, but damn.

Sacred Sword is back in Gallade's learnset in the Mega Dimension DLC
Idk if I wanna make a thread on it yet or if I'll just make general gameplay observations just here or there, but, it's neat to see Gallade get this move again. It might also mean that the original users of the move (the Musketeer Pokemon) might be in here somewhere now too.

What I was explaining both then and there was that this first art piece (by an artist named Ikki), drawn in '22, forgot Ame's monocle hair pin, which was just an honest mistake
Asami on the other hand, did not care for such details... and thought Ame's strands of hair was PART of the hair pin

There's a big video bringing this to light, with people calling into question and doubting what was being shown
And... yours truly, was among such doubters
Top right. That's literally ACTUALLY me. All the names had to be blurred likely out of courtesy, which is fine, I think it's just nice to see that even my doubts were able to help contribute to this. I basically just called into question about Ame's hair pin and why Moom is in a different outfit and why everything was just.... off, and wrong.

I felt every ounce of passion all of these guys put into their characters through their performances in-game, and I still feel that hearing this, and they all did a great job here too

I had so much fun with this one, despite Rotation Battles being nonsensical
This one was fairly challenging enough-- my back wasn't against the wall but it wasn't a walk in the park, either
And, I got to raise the Phantom Thieves once again

I haven't played the original Pokemon X in... well, twelve years, since it first released. I wanted to play through it again thanks to Legends ZA renewing my interest in revisiting Kalos, and being able to do it at a much harder difficulty, having to contend with all sorts of Legendaries, and to have the Phantom Thieves with me again (Arsene's story even originates from a French writer at that, Maurice Leblanc). Also, this wasn't even supposed to be an Eternal X playthrough. Well... I have been wanting to play it, so it's not like I was opposed. It's just that I wanted to give Ancestral X a try, but sadly, it just didn't work. Both games are pretty similar early on anyway, so I don't think I was missing much by having the first third technically be AX and the rest be EX. Heck, I wouldn't have had anyone from the team up until the point I reached (after getting the Mega Ring). -- FIN --

The fight with AZ is just a formality, since, while Buffel did give him a Mega Aerodactyl, it was nothing we couldn't handle
I haven't raised this team in this near-exact configuration in so long, where Flareon was in place of Umbreon, but Umbreon has more than proved itself
All based on the Personas of Ryuji, Yusuke, Makoto, Kasumi, Joker, and Akechi respectively. I really like this team a lot, both in terms of who/what they represent, how well they work together, and all the roles they've managed to fulfill. Gliscor, Umbreon, and Clefable formed the defensive backbone and feared NO status, all tanking stuff like it's nobody's business. Gengar pulled off many tricks, was fast and strong, Lopunny was also pretty quick and powerful, and Empoleon had some utility but also packed a punch, and could take a hit if needed. It's all well balanced type wise, role wise... it's all great stuff. I've had Flareon and Greninja usually represent Joker (and this is the game where Greninja originated from, even), but I'll say it again: Umbreon is fucking awesome. Buffel giving it Magic Guard was utterly busted. So now, if I ever wanna raise the Phantom Thieves again (even if only partially), I've got Umbreon to consider to represent Joker.

And Diantha's fight, despite her bringing titans like Arceus, Zygarde, and a Mega Mewtwo (Y in this, X if you're playing Wilting Y)... we took 'em all down, and didn't break a sweat
🎧 Keep Your Faith The team's very namesake. Diantha lead with Genesect, which went for Ice Beam against Gliscor, which Empoleon takes... except we got frozen! I just kinda had to hope it thawed, and it eventually did, because we needed Stealth Rock up. Once Lugia came in, Umbreon could wall it easily, but it also had Whirlwind to shuffle us around. I just had to Toxic it and hit it with Payback a few times. Against Blaziken, Clefable did what it did best: take the hits head on and apply Rocky Helmet recoil. Then in came Arceus... and we forewent Mega Evolving for the time being because it LITERALLY could not do any damage to Gengar. [:doobyRage:] Zygarde was after, and we used Taunt to ensure it wouldn't go for Dragon Dance (wasn't sure if it was gonna go for Thousand Arrows or not), but Thousand Arrows DID kill Gengar... but not before enacting one last deadly trade. It all came down to Umbreon against Mega Mewtwo Y... and despite having the highest Sp Atk in the game (base 194), despite having the super effective Aura Sphere, Umbreon shrugged it off, did a Toxic and Payback one-two combo, and that's Checkmate!

🎧 Gangplank Galleon ([:gatorScream:]) Here was the game plan: Kyogre sets up the rain, and both it and Ludicolo also have Rain Dance in case you try anything funny and switch out the weather. We went and undid the rain anyway with the sun (which also boosts the efficacy of Moonlight's healing) with Umbreon, who got to stay put in the center on account of its amazing Sp Def. Lopunny Fakes Out Kingdra, Gengar annihilates Ludicolo, and Kyogre can't KO any of us on the first turn. By the second, the sun's up, and Kyogre wants so badly to make it rain again, but Gengar and Lopunny double into it, and from there, it was clean up. 🎧 Find Your Flame The last Rotation Battle of the game. I'm... kinda tired of these, but thankfully, Umbreon can just ball like it always does. We get to +6 Atk and +6 Def with Curse, making Umbreon near impenetrable, and this time we use Substitute (since we can't Toxic anything here) to further protect us. Now Gengar's got Sunny Day, both to weaken the opposing Empoleon's Surf, and if needed, to also boost Moonlight's healing, but there was also no need for that. Umbreon just withstood and outlasted Wikstrom's sturdy Pokemon, firing off boosted Paybacks, which at the least two shot everything. I made sure to have Gengar take something out with Destiny Bond, and while Lopunny fell just a bit short from KOing Mega Aggron (still an impressive feat, given how damn bulky that is), I saved Umbreon's last Payback use to finish the job. 🎧 Id (Purpose) Lopunny lead against Hydreigon, to bait it into using Dragon Pulse exactly. Empoleon resists that, and it is Choice locked, so we're able to stay in and safely set up Stealth Rock, as well as +2 Spd with Agility, and we tried spamming Ice Beam. That was honestly the game plan, but we ended up freezing Hydreigon, so we got Clefable in for free.... And then Drasna switched out and into Rayquaza. So, the AI can switch if they're locked into a move that is ineffective. If it can do minimal damage, they'll stay in, but if it does no damage whatsoever... then they get outta there. In any case, this was all Clefable. Show them, Cendrillon! I had set up a few Calm Minds with Clefable so that its Moonblasts hit harder, and... it was able to confidently stand STRONG against Rayquaza's V-create and Giratina's Shadow Force, healing off the damage, and letting them take themselves out with Rocky Helmet's recoil. Even when it ran out of Soft-Boiled uses, it still outlasted everything, even if it came close by the end. 🎧 Rivers In The Desert Lopunny Fakes Out Reshiram, and Empoleon sets up the rain to undo the sun. There's no Sunny Day, but... Malva does have a Mega Charizard Y to re-set up the sun. Albeit, she only sends that out last, so we can get through most of the fight with the rain. Also, that means both Charizards are in the Elite Four, which is kinda neat. After that, Lopunny is fast enough that I get to use a move called After You, which lets the targeted Pokemon move, well, after yours. I use it on Empoleon so that it gets to be as fast as Lopunny, and we get Stealth Rock up. Empoleon survives an Earth Power, but barely... and it gets the Sp Def drop, which then boosts Empoleon's Sp Atk, letting it take Reshiram out with a rain boosted Scald. Ninetales KO'd Empoleon after, but it was a pretty nice exchanging of blows, which continued from there until it got to Mega Charizard Y. Also, Ninetales is able to use Will-o-Wisp on its partner if it has Flash Fire, so that's smart from the AI actually. Also also, for some reason, Charizard and Ninetales just kept going for Solar Beam, and it nearly KO'd Umbreon... but it held on and took 'em like a champ.

We've finally made it to the Pokemon League... so I should be done with this pretty soon, maybe tonight
I just have to readjust moves, get rid of the now unneeded HM moves, and then figure out a plan for each fight, figure out what moves we'll need

And his last Pokemon was also a Mega Gengar, so this final fight was a mirror match
Heck, he even had an Umbreon too (again, with the exact same moveset as mine, and with Leftovers, but that kinda goes to show how good it is)
Mine sadly perished in the fight, because of a Quagsire of all things

This last trainer leads with Forretress, intending to set up hazards
Taunt prevents it from using 'em, so it tries to use Volt Switch, which Gliscor nullifies
Its only other move at that point that it can use... is Explosion

What the heck
I... think I get it, but it's still a bit odd. Aron, at Lv 1, is supposed to withstand any attack with Sturdy, then it uses Endeavor to bring you down to 1 HP. Thing is... one, that's usually a Single Battle strategy, two, there's usually supposed to be some method of taking out that remaining HP afterwards. I guess that's what the other Pokemon is there for, but... well, this is pretty easy to answer.

Here's a fight that could've been an utter nightmare if you don't have any means of stopping it
I thankfully do, because Gengar's Taunt will prevent any Smeargle from doing anything, like, at all
The first one would even Struggle, and the rest (and Espeon) go down very easily
But if you have no means of stopping it? Then... things can get out of control and out of hand very quickly. Smeargle's Moody gives a +2 boost to a random stat, but -1 to another, and all the Smeargles have some sort of effect or stat boosts to pass to one another. Stored Power gets exponentially stronger for each stat boost you have, to the point where despite Smeargle's abysmal's attacking stats, it could actually do some good damage. The intent is for 'em to pass it all to Espeon, who would run right over you. It wasn't a problem for us, but I definitely see how it could've been.
