Interesting thought experiment here on the boundaries between private property/ownership and national security when you privatise key parts of the state.
I dont know enough about ownership in the US, but itd be an odd thing to say if he knows he couldnt do it.

I wonder if we will end up with a northern ireland style situation with the occupied territories where they are legally part of ukraine, politically independent, and with passports for either country.
This is the closest I can see to a just peace situation. So UN there, and Europe forces in Ukraine.
