Most people that are victims of catfishing aren’t going to spend the time to look up a whois.

And even if they did anyone of note is going have it set to private.

None of these issues raised are new. We’ve existed since q4 ‘24.

Even the platform feels this is a valid process.

How do her fans know she actually owns her domain?

How does one digitally develop trust?

We’re doing it by intentionally and steadily verifying people. As our track record continues to show our clients are exactly who they say they are more people will recognize what we’re doing.

Yet Cherie chose to go with our service.

She wants her fans to be able to know immediately that it is her verified account.

Anyone can make an account buy a domain and set a dns record. How does that actually verify the individual if its not a well established domain?
April 5, 2025 at 9:04 PM
There is no official platform level verification on bsky.

They’re not opinions because the people we have previously verified act as a proven track record of our service.

It is part of the reason we’re very deliberate with who we verify.
April 5, 2025 at 8:58 PM
Have to disagree with you there. We have two noble
Prize winners already verified in addition to other notable individuals from entertainment to academics.

Plenty of people who don’t qualify have applied and we’ve done due diligence and rejected their applications.

Yes, for some users that is a good solution for them.

But anyone can buy a domain. Someone’s audience would then have to navigate off platform to determine if that domain is legitimate.
April 5, 2025 at 8:24 PM
That’s intentional. Our product is intended for people of note.

We very deliberately made this a manual process, each application is reviewed by a human before moving forward with the verification call.
April 5, 2025 at 8:21 PM
We felt this was a more secure way for verification.
April 5, 2025 at 8:14 PM
We collect no data beyond social media links to verify an applicants notability.

Verification is done via a zoom call.

The point is help both notable people and the audience they interact with from potentially getting scammed.

No one was paid for that promotion. Actually a just clipped from the end of a recent podcast.
April 5, 2025 at 8:02 PM
Some of our existing clientele stated that they enjoy that their fans don’t have to navigate off bsky to confirm that the domain is a legit domain.
April 5, 2025 at 8:01 PM
For some people such as yourself domain registration makes sense.

For more notable individuals /brands we offer the option for their fans to know a 3rd party has verified that they’re interacting with who they claim they are.
