Funny how the people doing this can recognize the emotional strain they deal with from lack of money, but not that of people who can't afford their product. Maybe instead of punching down, we could acknowledge that the need for paywalls is toxic whether we take part in it or not.

I can't work, I can't afford a subscription to a paper, many times these articles are presented by people sharing them as 'must-read's, and then those same people get upset when others use a public forum to express their frustration with paywalls. No reason to be defensive if you see the privilege
