Interesting! My guy has upright ears but the markings and snoot had me wondering if they have a bit of similarity! Jimmy has a shorter nose that looks more beagle from the side, but he's more rat terrier in other ways and his personality is more terrier-like. Rescues are just wonderful mysteries!

I know turkeys can and do go in trees all the time, but waking up to this outside my window (plus her six poults) still scared the bejeezus out of me

This week's farm share goodness: radishes, greens, cauliflower, cabbage, summer squash, zucchini, tomatoes and red potatoes. And I get to go pick green beans this weekend!

(From Pahl's- this is a full size share)

Back from another beautiful (hot, muddy) Blue Ox Music Festival. Each year I'm reminded what community can be- sharing space, abundance, time, food, creativity, knowledge and smiles. A little city of 6000 friends, new and old, coming together to make a few days of magic. I'm overcome with gratitude.

First CSA haul of the season!

Week 1 box: strawberries, rhubarb, bok choy, broccoli, kohlrabi, and kale.

They also gave us gift cards for Von Hanson's Meats and Great Harvest Bread Co.

A coworker suggested I share what I make with each box, so I'll try to do that here too if anyone's interested

The Eagan art fair continues tomorrow (until 4) and there's such a lovely mix of artists at all price points, food, ice cream, coffee, live music, activities for the kids, a community art project, make your own crop art, and a splash pad! Do go support it if you can. At Eagan Festival Grounds!

My son asked to go for a walk this morning so he could practice taking photos, and I'll admit I was a bit irritated because I tend to hole up on bad news days. But it turned out to be a nice diversion. So here's some pretty leaves we found

Jimmy has been asking to go out constantly all day with his "potty emergency" signal, without doing much once we're out. It turns out he just wanted to lie in the sun and listen to the birds (honestly, same)

Have some spring plants, and a slime mold as a treat

Not pictured: eleventyzillion more bellwort, white yellow and purple violets, tons of wild strawberry, bloodwort, anemone, wild ginger, and EIGHT woodticks that tried to hitch a ride on my legs and in my boots. It was magical except the last part
