thehorizonmachine.itch.io/most-trusted... blew my mind. Belonging outside belonging inspired ducats encourage each playbook to take thematic ill advised actions to gain ducats they can spend to for narrative power, twists let you get out of hot water and the liege playbooks for the GM are all great!

Couple I didn’t seen mentioned while quickly scrolling.

Castle Falkenstein might count, in that sort of wild Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s court is an Isekai way.

I’m really bad at keeping track, but 50 library books and maybe a dozen non-library books.

Little Blue Encyclopedia has been my book of the year so far.

Is there any way to subscribe without using the payment being processed with Stripe? In light of Stripe’s apparently central role in the censorship of queer and nsfw games on itch I’ve been refusing to make purchases through them.

@jnb.art does incredible work and is currently taking commissions. I think her price for a cover might fall in your budget if I’m reading her spec sheet right.

I also think her style would lend itself really well to a striking and bleak piece featuring the four horsemen.

Just finished it yesterday! It’s such a rich experience, especially considering how short it is.

Rising Tide (co-founded by Domille of DWW) has a lot of opportunities posted to it, plus it has a workshops and talks from folks in the TTRPG industry.

There might be better servers to find work but I think it’s a good option for connecting with other professionals and aspiring professionals.

I’ve been eagerly awaiting watching this since you first teased it here. Was well worth the wait. Thank you.

It is really neat to hear your take on this. The amount of draws you make can totally transform the feeling of a game.

I know that eliding rolls/draws has had a really positive effect on my enjoyment as a GM

Picked up Prairie Fairies from my local library. Super excited to learn about the queer history of Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Edmonton.

The most success I’ve had introducing new players to roleplaying games have been sessions of Wushu and Fiasco.

Both have a very clear gameplay structure, which I’ve found makes for better scaffolding than a heavier ruleset.

A very different take on the magical university genre is Pigsmoke, which is a PBtA inspired game about being instructors seeking to publish research and earn tenure while navigating the politics of academia.

It’s got some neat playbooks and some really cool rules for different departments.

Fight with spirit is the one that’s been on my radar (I loved Good Society from the same publisher) but I haven’t check it out yet.

Oh gosh, and I’m over here shilling your own work to you. Hilarious and embarrassing. 😂

I ran the jewelry heist quest for my players as a one-shot. They had a blast, you folks did a great job!

There is also Eldritch Osiris Games, who are a collective of creator. (I’ve done some work for them)

For context I made Mercenary Marketplace Volume 1 which is a collection of PF2e NPCs for Foundry VTT, and I’ve helped out a few other folks doing conversions of their PF2e creations to foundry.

Tom Cartos and Domille’s Wonderous Works release PF2e versions of their short adventures.

The big 3pp creators for PF2e are Team+, and Battlezoo.

Some other folks I’ve worked with doing PF2e stuff are, Strong Together and Alan Tucker. Infinite Possibilities is a pretty healthy creator discord.

There are myriad more I could have included (I don’t think I even touched the solo games)

The indie scene is full of incredible designers creating beautiful, inspiring, outsider art. I love them.

If y’all need a link to the games mentioned above, or heck, if you want more games, let me know.

Here are some cool indie games that break this paradigm imo: Dialect, Destroying Maps, Border Riding, Coyote & Crow, Scraps, Grimoire Punk, Spire, An Altogether Different River, Wise Women, Exceptionals, To Change, Our Farm Becomes the Battlefield, Compromise//Empire, Wights, The Deep Forest.

Dialect is my pick. You build a unique lexicon for an isolated community, let it evolve and be changed and then see it erased. You end up walking away from the table having witnessed the death of a language. Its a really unique experience. thornygames.com/pages/dialect

It’s such a lovely game. Also the way it handles gender presentation for the player characters, as a slider you can just adjust anytime in the game is so good.
