Spent the first 6mo of my post doc with a lot of reading, learning, planning, writing… feels amazing to finally be back it the lab! And feels even better to already see some interesting peaks in the spectrum, the second the sample is in focus 🤔🧪💡

This weekend I finished 2nd place at a local Xmas 10K race. The reward: a chocolate advent calendar and a voucher for 30L of beer. The german way of levelling the playing field for the next race I guess 😜

On today’s PhD thesis reading list: the very fundamentals of 2photon microscopy. Maria Goeppert-Mayer‘s thesis from 1931 is not just an instructive but also inspirational read (she was the second woman to win the Nobel price for physics, in 1963). 💡
