Honestly that's my hope. As a fan of digestion and general disliker of safe, I think either way this is where Lyle's story ends for me. Either that or another story ends with him being eaten.

The more I look at it, this may have been the happiest ending he could get with everything that happened. He's no longer being played with by Nino, and he doesn't have to live with

The more I think about it, the more a happy ending for him doesn't seem possible, unless he's resurrected with his memory wiped, and that's a whole nother can of worms that doesn't seem like a happy ending. No matter how you look at it, he'll have to live with the knowledge that the person he loved
