Payne's gray is the ultimate color 🖤 I have painted entire drawings with just this color. The best combination for Payne's gray is definitely ochre or yellow tones. I like to combine it with Indian yellow, which has many shades between yellow and orange.

Lots pencil sketches, control water and pigment, build the painting in your mind...every blank space and every step. It can be frustrating and scary at first..mm.I won't lie to you, I still find the moment before I wet the paper terrifying😅
