The obijime (the big red string) I added to look sort of like a widow’s hourglass as that was a spider I liked as a kid although in earlier concepts for the model it was just going to be the bow of the obi as it looked more like an hourglass but I thought the design was too busy

I wanted to make an outfit that was a little further away from my Spider-man like design so I wanted to go more into my Japanese heritage as it is a very important part of me that I never got to fully explore as I grew up in the states
