Every video game that ends being a functional and fun piece of software is already monumental achievement, but Expedition 33 is a marvel and a miracle. And it is the best thing I played this year so far (with very high competion). And the most french one ever

XBox tells me this about Blue Prince. Either I am very bad at puzzles, or it is a lie. Probably it is both

At this rate, EU will be at war with USA in about a month

Here in Europe, we are still in the slow part. We can still stop it, but I am genuinely afraid we are fast approaching the point of no return
as an anthropologist, one of my academic specialisations is authoritarianism & revolutionist practice in response to it

one of my research foci for 3+ years was the social processes of a society's descent into authoritarianism.

my historian mentor once told me:
it happens slowly, then all at once.

Got a game-locking bug almost at the end of Indiana Jones, but the game is so good I am not even mad

No YouTube, I do not want to watch a video from another random weirdo explaining me how to save the game industry by listening to "gamers (TM)"

The "bluesky is an echo chamber" think pieces that keep popping up really tickle me because they show how certain people genuinely believe social media should be for debating and arguing and not talking about the things that make you happy and sharing art with the world.

It has been 10 years since I made my last custom Tomb Raider level. With everything that happened since, professionally or not, it is feels more than a lifetime ago. Crazy that the community there is still strong

I suspect running RPG sessions is fundamental to keep me sane (and the crazier the game, the better)

The sad part of being a gameplay programmer is that you do not get to show the stuff you are proud of to many people. "I made a very flexible equipment system" is not as sexy as a random concept art

This place reminds me a lot the first days of social networks. I hope it stays like that for a long time

Question for game devs out there. How did you start? In my case, it was Age of Empires mission editor when I was 8, but the Tomb Raider Level Editor was what really pushed me in this rabbit hole.

The more I get older, the less I can dedicate to play, the more I care if a game respects my time more than everything else.

Also me: "I guess I will relax by preparing the next D&D sessions"

I love my job, but I miss a bit when I was young and videogames were, at least for me, just games, instead of a "late capitalism industry" with all that comes with it.
