Whenever I get severely hopeless, I like to try and use the time I'd otherwise spend moping around feeling miserable to do pigeon stuff. So I did that this afternoon. Destrung this poor little bird. At least I can use my time to make someone else's existence a bit less shitty. #pigeons #pigeonsky

Baby update! They're still very cute. I cleaned out the wardrobe area and gave them better stuff to nest on than my partner's clothing. #pigeons #babybirds #birds

This morning I wake up to learn that Tara and Perdie are now parents. This was... unexpected. I am still not 100% because they've been a couple for ages and they haven't had babies, and last week Astarion and Baby were flying around the house due to the rain. But Perdie is being a dad. #pigeons

Someone was kind enough to update me on FB about one of their local #pigeons whom I destrung. He's looking great and the foot has healed.

So apparently this is not the time for me to just go about my workday in the city and not find #pigeons in need of help. Last week it was Rose, this week it's Spartacus. He can't fly, is very weak, and is covered in grease or oil or something. :(

OMFG TKMaxx is epic for #Halloween shit. Disappointed that I didn't find towels and doormats and there was a lack of spidery stuff, but I came out with some really cute goodies. I hope they keep it up til October 31st.

Most birds would be scared of cats, dogs, people, etc, but Perdie will sass anyone & believes he's more like a parrot or a bird of prey. He goes everywhere. Does whatever he wants.

I destrung some #pigeons today and one poor bird... I haven't had one quite that bad before. The bird had hair in its foot, plus a heap of solidified necrotic material with more hair bound over it. He'd already lost toes, and the swelling in the remaining area was nasty. 😭 This was the after pic.

I still love them. I feed them and remove string from their feet and have several living in my house who I brought home because they were injured or struggling. They are gentle, quirky, clever birds who don't deserve the situation humans put them in. They remember and recognise people who feed them!
