I would do whatever idea is fresh. If you have adrenaline to continue book 2 of the series I would go for it while it’s fresh and then take a break for another stand alone.

What happens to me is I finish a project and immediately work on the next book. I'm to the point where I've hit a wall so that gives me a chance to work on other projects until I find the inspiration to continue the other projects. Hence why I have 5 now.
