Hannu Uusitalo presents one of Risto Alapuro's last academic works, his re-examination of his own teacher, Erik Allardt – Sociology as a language of modernization.
Risto claims that Allardt was succesful because he was able to use Drukheimian theory to understand Finnish solidarity and modernization

Naturally, many sad stories about personal destinies. People were expelled to Karelia, or executed, as many in these communities were.

Interestingly, many of the members did not speak Russian, even though many were second-generation colonists, and had lived in the USSR for decades.

The study is based on protocols of communist local party chapter.

Ideological work shifts from pedagogical approach in 1935 to party history and nation-building and indoctrination to a much more tightly controlled system in 1938. From external to internal enemies of the people.
