Zone 5b supremacy

I love money, gardening, and being a member of the socialist fifth column in the Michigan Natural Law Party.
If it turns out one of them has been saving a video of the fight to reveal during the finale, I’m going to come unglued

best thing that’s ever helped me is finding fiber/vegetable heavy meals that I actually like (most important part) and making a lot of them and freezing individual portions

still in limbo to this day because they *forgot* to transport the bills to the governor’s desk. So one reason I think you see more criticism of her is that enthusiasm among people who live here fell off bridgemi.com/michigan-gov...
Michigan court: House GOP must send blocked bills to Whitmer - Bridge Michigan
A Michigan Court of Appeals panel rules House Republicans must send Gov. Gretchen Whitmer nine bills passed last year, including pension and health care measures backed by labor groups.

As a Michigander, it doesn’t help that she came off of a phenomenal session in 2023 to a very underwhelming session in 2024 where most Dem priorities flopped and the final day of the term ended with reps in literal tears on the house floor. Several laws that passed our legislature that day are

While Whitmer was already 6 years in, with an incredibly unproductive 2024 session that ended in a very embarrassing way that is still being litigated in our state courts.

Whitmer was just playing with the cards she was dealt, the photo op was a little confused and awkward though. To strongman the different responses though, I do think part of it is that Zohran is headed into his term with most possibilities still open.

She needs the pay though to make her restitution

Yes of course. But what I’m saying is that it’s the only pathway back to nationally legal abortion and HRT, other than winning elections for 40 straight years to take back SCOTUS through attrition.

It would be a huge net win for the Democratic agenda, which is why Republicans don’t want to get rid of the filibuster.
November 21, 2025 at 6:18 PM
It was reported at the time that there were more Democratic Senators that didn’t want to abolish the filibuster and just allowed Manchin and Sinema to take the heat for them. Also, Schumer’s pick for Maine’s senatorial nominee is explicitly in favor of the filibuster.

The average Green voter has a more realistic theory of change than you

Seems like a bad selling point for potential Democratic voters in 2028 that neither of these things will get better for 40 years.
November 21, 2025 at 6:03 PM
in 2029. There is no way to protect access nationally that does not require abolishing the filibuster. Other than winning 10 straight presidential elections and taking the SCOTUS majority by attrition.
November 21, 2025 at 6:02 PM
Republicans would probably have repealed any law Democrats had passed protecting access to HRT/puberty blockers, but I’m skeptical they would ban them federally, because a bill doing that hasn’t passed the House. Not having the filibuster means that restoring access in all states is on the table
November 21, 2025 at 6:00 PM
In that case why does SCOTUS not simply make abortion illegal nationally right now?
November 21, 2025 at 5:52 PM
Are you seriously arguing in defense of the filibuster?
November 21, 2025 at 5:50 PM
Remember 1 week ago when 8 Dem Senators, with the blessing of Schumer, ended the shutdown so the filibuster would be preserved?
November 21, 2025 at 5:49 PM
That’s not what I’m saying at all.
