Some mix of this and just the recurring problem that journalists are bafflingly still not very good at pointing out things that Trump and friends say aren’t true, even when it’s obvious.

One of the most successful HSR networks in the world and he just looks at a map and says it’s a waste because he assumes no one lives in the interior. Truly, the media’s finest mind.

Remember when MattY was complaining about Amtrak’s proposed expansion serving “cities where no one lives” and it was a route connecting Chicago to Columbus, a city with nearly a million people?
