Sound baths are an underutilized reset button. Laying there zenning out always brings to mind whale songs, ancestral chants, and aliens beaming me up. #soundbath

I know that it has become ubiquitous, but if you are playing any sound on your phone - a plague on both your houses. Put in your headphones. No one wants to hear your shit. #shutup #noisepollution

This was so much fun. A wild, gory, fantasy adventure. At no point in my reading did I anticipate what was coming next. I’m obsessed. Princess donut forever. 😻

Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir
The demon in the freezer by Richard Preston
Cobalt Red by Siddharth Kara

DNF - Love in the time of serial killers by Alicia Thompson

Finally read Project Hail Mary & I loved it! It’s now my favorite of his 3 novels. Easily the best book I’ve read in a while. It gave me the readers high I’m always chasing. Totally immersed in the story/characters & emotionally invested in their survival & friendship. Perfect

Cobalt from the DRC is used to charge smart phones, EVs & more. Its extraction is a tale of unimaginable cruelty, brutality & exploitation. This is an examination & investigation of what’s happening to the Congolese through a web of obfuscation & corruption at every link in the chain.

It’s not easy being vegan on vacation. But I did manage to find a gem in Paris: Le Potager De Charlotte. Tres magnifique!

A page turner. Started it today & can’t put it down. Darby focuses on 3 women deep in the world of White nationalism, & the ways in which they’ve upheld, & proselytized White supremacy. Why do women buy into this lie? How does it serve them? & is there a path to bring them back? #booksky #books 📚💙

America is a hell mouth, but at least I can escape with books (sort of). Some of these were very real - “They came for the schools” or based on current events ie. white extremism, book banning, and CRT - “Lula Dean’s little library of banned books”.
DNF “Haunting Adeline” was terrible.

There are way too many to list, but here are a few of my favorite contemporary books about misogyny and/or feminism. Always looking for more recommendations or people to rage with. #Booksky 💙📚 #Books #Feminism #Feminist #IntersectionalFeminism #StayAngry

“Chain-Gang All-Stars” by
Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah
Speculative fiction that’s a hair’s breadth from reality. The novel exposes our obsession with reality TV culture, the disproportionate mass incarceration of Black Americans, and prison reform. It’s brutal and beautiful. #booksky 📚💙

When a book makes you so angry, you have to put it down & take deep breaths.
This Herculean feat of journalism crystallizes why local politics matter (esp. school boards). When blind faith is a smokescreen for racism, homophobia, transphobia & anti-intellectualism your school is fucked. 📚💙 #booksky

What if throughout history women turned into dragons & that history was suppressed? A young witness tries to make sense of what happned by uncovering her history in this feminist fantasy. Dragons make bad men go crunch or reduce them to ash.

Finally caught up and finished watching the new Doctor Who. Absolutely adore the energy Ncuti Gatwa brings to the role. Had mixed feelings about the Christmas special, but otherwise it’s amazing. More emotional, a little bit more lighthearted, and so fun.
